Herbal Medicine - Getting Proactive

Updated: Jun 11, 2022

In this day and age there’s a good chance that when you think of medicine, you think of a tool that is “reactive” rather than “proactive”. That is, medicine is the questionable tasting stuff you take after you’ve already gotten sick so that being sick doesn’t suck as much, and with a little luck it won’t last as long.

But what if medicine was what you took to help stop you from getting sick in the first place? What if instead of being reactive, you started being proactive about your health?

Herbal medicine is a gentle and natural way to help support your body’s functions on a daily basis in order to keep it top shape to ward off illness, and to minimize the severity of illness if and when you do get sick. Don’t believe me? I can’t remember getting a single cold or flu in the past 10 years.

Incorporating herbal medicine into your life also doesn’t have to be overly complicated. Adding medicinal teas, syrups, or tinctures to your routine only takes a few minutes a day.

To get started with your routine sit down and come up with on one or two areas of your health that you want to focus on. Maybe you want to work on your liver health, or to sleep better at night so that your body gets proper rest.

After you come up with one or two, you can either take the time to do your own research on which herbs might be beneficial to you, or, to save time and be pointed in the right direction with a professional opinion, you can seek out the advice of an herbalist to give you a few great recommendations on which herbs or blends may benefit you the most.

Either way you’ll feel great taking that first step towards self health empowerment.

Happy Healing!
